Pay receipts, personnel records, quartermaster reports, and tri- monthly reports, 1st Ohio Volunteer Infantry, 1861-1864.

Pay receipts include name, amount, and date. Personnel records vary in the information they provide, but all include name and rank. Tri- monthly reports detail actions taken, including numbers of men gained or lost from the regiment. Also includes officer promotions or reassignments and names of men discharged, left in hospitals, or arrested.

When Mexican and Civil War soldiers mustered out of service, many regiments turned their flags over to the state of Ohio.
